World Bank
The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. The World Bank is not a bank in the ordinary sense but a unique partnership to reduce poverty and support development. Sogema Technologies is proud to have been selected to work on a number of Tax Administration projects for the World Bank.
The World Bank provides low-interest loans, zero to low-interest credits, and grants to developing countries. These support a wide array of investments in areas such as: education, health, public administration, infrastructure, financial and private sector development, agriculture, and environmental and natural resource management. Some projects are co-financed with governments, other multilateral institutions, commercial banks, export credit agencies, and private sector investors.
Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada
The department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (FATDC) is a department of the Canadian Government whose mandate is to manage Canada’s diplomatic and consular relations, encouraging the country’s international trade and development, as well as providing humanitarian assistance. Prior to its consolidation within FATDC, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) funded the implementation of SIGTAS and the training of local tax administrators in Mali.
Department for International Development, United Kingdom
The Department for International Development (DFID) is a branch of the British Government, providing among other things; international development assistance in the form of project financing. DFID funding was crucial for the implementation of the VAT system in Afghanistan.
DFID is a leader in the UK’s efforts to end extreme poverty. Their goal is to reduce the requirement for international aid by creating jobs, unlocking the potential of girls and women and helping to save lives when humanitarian emergencies occur. DFID spends nearly £1 billion a year on wealth creation programs in poor countries. These programs include financing through grants, loans and other financial instruments to cover activities such as: improving infrastructure, water sanitation, agricultural development and innovation.
African Development Bank Group
The African Development Bank, one of the 5 major development banks in Africa, is an important financial partner of Sogema Technologies. The Bank provides funding as a grant or as a concessional loan to the beneficiary countries who receive products and services from Sogema Technologies.
The overall objective of the AfDB group is to support the individual and collective economic development of African countries as well as to nurture social progress throughout Africa. To do this, they invest in public and private projects as well as in programs designed to reduce poverty and to improve living conditions.
